VOA Announces Ericka Fusilier as New Executive Vice President of External Affairs

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (June 29, 2026) – Volunteers of America (VOA), one of the nation’s oldest and largest human services providers, welcomes Ericka Fusilier as Executive Vice President of External Affairs beginning June 1, 2026. She will be based at VOA’s national headquarters in Alexandria, Va.

Fusilier will lead national strategy across public policy, communications and branding for VOA’s national organization, which supports 29 regional affiliates and more than 400 programs nationwide. Her leadership will help position the organization as a leading voice in advocacy, human services and community engagement, while elevating organizational visibility, strengthening strategic partnerships and advancing initiatives that amplify VOA’s mission.

Fusilier brings more than a decade of leadership experience within the VOA network, including over 11 years with VOA Texas. Prior to joining VOA, Fusilier held roles in corporate communications at Entergy Texas and with the Southeast Texas Regional Planning Commission’s Area Agency on Aging, where she advanced communications efforts supporting services for older adults. She began her career as a television news anchor and reporter, where she developed the foundation for her expertise in media relations, public engagement and strategic storytelling. Her media experience includes national appearances on MSNBC’s “The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch” and “Inside Edition”.

“We’re thrilled to have Ericka join our national team,” said VOA National President and CEO Mike King. “During her tenure with VOA in Texas, she greatly expanded visibility for our programs in the state by securing national and international media and building stronger relationships with key stakeholders and diverse audiences. Ericka is a skilled communicator and a dedicated advocate whose expertise will further expand VOA’s mission to build stronger and healthier communities for all.”

Fusilier also is a published author of the children’s book “The Priceless Pact”, which encourages young readers to advocate for others experiencing bullying and reflects her commitment to service and storytelling as tools for impact.

An active member of the community, Fusilier is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Junior League of Dallas. Her accomplishments and service have been recognized with several honors, including the Press Club for storytelling and the President’s Volunteer Service Award for her work as a Girl Scout Troop Leader.
