
Ericka Fusilier serves as Executive Vice President of External Affairs for Volunteers of America, where she leads national strategy across public policy, communications, and branding to elevate organizational visibility, strengthen strategic partnerships, and advance initiatives that amplify mission impact. In this role, she helps position the organization as a leading voice in advocacy, service, and community engagement nationwide.
Fusilier brings more than a decade of leadership experience within the VOA network, including over 11 years with VOA Texas. She has a proven track record of expanding visibility, securing national and international media coverage, and strengthening stakeholder engagement to advance organizational priorities. Her leadership is defined by her ability to build meaningful relationships, align diverse audiences, and translate vision into action that benefits the communities served.
Prior to joining VOA, Fusilier held roles in corporate communications at Entergy Texas, Inc., and with the Southeast Texas Regional Planning Commission’s Area Agency on Aging, where she advanced communications efforts supporting services for older adults. She began her career as a television news anchor and reporter, where she developed the foundation for her expertise in media relations, public engagement, and strategic storytelling. Her media experience includes national appearances on MSNBC’s The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch and Inside Edition.
She is also a published author of the children’s book The Priceless Pact, which encourages young readers to advocate for others experiencing bullying and reflects her commitment to service and storytelling as tools for impact.
Fusilier is actively engaged in her community and is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.® and the Junior League. Her accomplishments and service has been recognized with several honors, including the Press Club for storytelling and the President’s Volunteer Service Award for her work as a Girl Scout Troop Leader.
She holds a Master of Arts in Managerial Communications from Bellevue University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Radio and Television from Sam Houston State University.
