WELCOME TO EAST CLARKE PLACE SENIOR RESIDENCE
East Clarke Place Senior Residence is a 14-story, 122-unit rental building in the Jerome Avenue Highbridge-Concourse neighborhood of the Bronx that will provide safe and affordable permanent housing for low- and very low-income older adults. For the 84 units available, 26,000 applications were received—200 of them handwritten—demonstrating the critical need for this type of housing in our communities.
Thirty-seven fully furnished units are set aside for seniors who are chronically homeless who will also benefit from a comprehensive range of supportive services.
On-site case management and wellness staff will help residents access benefits, create connections with community resources, and assist with medication management. Activities like art therapy, gardening, game nights, trips to museums or shopping centers, yoga and fitness classes tailored to older adults, and special events will help keep residents safe, active and engaged. Building community to fight the social isolation so common with aging, and for those who have experienced homelessness, is a primary focus.
