Volunteers of America Honors iHeartMedia with its 2023 Good Samaritan Award in Philanthropy

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (June 8, 2023)  – Volunteers of America (VOA), one of the nation’s largest and oldest human services organizations, presented its 2023 Good Samaritan Award in Philanthropy to iHeartMedia, in recognition of its partnership to support those most in need nationwide. The award was presented June 5 to iHeartMedia President, COO and CFO Richard Bressler during Volunteers of America’s national conference in Nashville.

“iHeart’s multiple platforms and technologies, and the connection our broadcast stations and personalities have with listeners across America, enables us to reach families to distribute critical messaging and resources across a broad spectrum of causes,” said iHeartMedia President, COO and CFO Richard Bressler. “VOA also supports a wide range of social service issues, and is uniquely positioned to reach, engage and help families impacted by a number of different challenges.  Together with iHeart’s unparalleled ability to reach communities nationwide, this partnership is able to create meaningful change.”

VOA’s Good Samaritan Award honors an individual or organization that exemplifies the American spirit of community service and civic involvement. iHeart and VOA have been partners for over four years, and most recently have partnered through iHeartIMPACT, a division of iHeartMedia designed to help corporate brands partner with nonprofits and invest in communities through their advertising spends with iHeartMedia.

As part of the long-standing partnership, VOA has been featured in national marketing campaigns across iHeart broadcast radio stations in collaboration with brands like Voltaren and Stella Rosa, and with celebrity spokespeople including actress Jennie Garth. iHeart’s radio campaigns have also helped to support VOA programming, reaching caregivers and community health workers as well as addressing job readiness, all of which are critical to the organization’s “Healthy Communities for All” efforts.

“The scope and diversity of iHeart’s support embodies the spirit of the Good Samaritan Award,” said Volunteers of America National President Mike King. “The people we serve have greatly benefited from our partnership, and we hope to have iHeartMedia as part of the VOA family for years to come.”

iHeartIMPACT was launched in 2019 and focuses on aligning brands with nonprofit organizations. iHeartIMPACT ensures that while brands are investing in media, they are doing so alongside national and local nonprofit organizations who are helping the underserved and positively impacting communities across the country.
