The pilot is designed to improve the overall wellbeing of senior residents by reducing loneliness and social isolation through the introduction of interactive companion pets. Building on insights from the forthcoming research report “Residents First: Technology for Connection and Healthy Living in Affordable Senior Housing,” funded by Humana Foundation, the program emphasizes resident-centered design, early engagement, and continuous feedback. Up to 100 companion pets will be deployed alongside adoption events, ongoing engagement activities, and structured assessments to evaluate program effectiveness.

Through this collaboration, Vivo will provide live, interactive fitness classes remotely, while residents participate in person at a common area equipped with a TV, laptop, camera, and microphone. ​ The program will run for 6 months, offering one class per week, with optional resistance bands available for enhanced workouts. ​ This partnership aims to improve the health and wellness of Paloma Garden residents through engaging and accessible fitness solutions.

This program  serves approximately 350 pregnant and postpartum mothers each year across seven counties, with plans to expand to nine or ten. The pilot focuses exclusively on training and education rather than direct clinical care. Its goal is to equip VOA Pennsylvania’s Maternal Community Health Workers with foundational knowledge in perinatal mental health. The partnership also provides psychoeducation materials that CHWs can share with mothers during home visits and group sessions.

Although the five-year service goal was to reach 700 women of color, the partnership ended after eight months due to federal funding and program cuts, and participants were referred to other programs for continued services. Building on this work, Wolomi launched a new pilot partnership with VOA Florida in September 2025. This pilot brings Wolomi’s Mama Companion program to underserved and under-resourced birthing women ages 18 to 45 living in VOA housing in St. Petersburg and Tampa, Florida.

The partnership bridges the gap between workforce training and employment, supporting clients as they move from program participation to meaningful jobs while building confidence, digital skills, and career clarity. During the pilot, the platform supported 43 workforce program participants with 100% engagement, improving access to career exploration and job readiness resources. Clients valued a trusted platform for ongoing guidance aligned with their skills and interests, while centralized tracking and streamlined documentation improved staff efficiency and enabled a scalable, outcome-focused model. The pilot’s success led to its expansion to additional workforce programs, with future phases planned to support employer engagement and employment outcome tracking.
