The Home Depot Assists During Hurricane Katrina Commemoration Events

August 29, 2015 marked the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and Volunteers of America Greater New Orleans commemorated the event with a series of simultaneous citywide activities.

Volunteers of America of Greater New Orleans hosted two activities in observance of the occasion and they were among the beneficiaries of the Folgers Resilience Run/Walk. The local office provided volunteers and managed a water station for the race.

The second event was a beautification project at Elysian Courtyards of Gentilly, an affordable apartment community owned and operated by Volunteers of America Greater New Orleans. The project included 100 volunteers mulching interior and exterior courtyards, staining wood railings, refurbishing the playground area and more. Both events would not have been possible without the assistance of Team Depot’s volunteers.
