In Memoriam: Carlos Maese

Carlos_Maese.jpgIt is with great sadness that Volunteers of America announces the death of former national board member Carlos Maese. On Oct. 21, Maese died due to injuries suffered in a single-person bicycle accident a few days earlier.

Maese served seven years on the Volunteers of America national board of directors, and nine years on the board of Volunteers of America Texas, three as chair of the board. He also served on the board of Volunteers of America National Services. Maese was a partner with Human Dynamics, Inc., a business consulting firm located in Richardson, Texas.

“Carlos played an important role with Volunteers of America, giving freely of his time, gifts of leadership and insight, and his faith,” said Mike King, Volunteers of America president and CEO. “He will be deeply missed.”

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at Saint Rita’s Catholic Church in Dallas. The Maese family welcomes flowers or, in lieu of flowers, donations to the following organizations: Volunteers of America or Catholic Charities of Dallas.
