Re-Entry: Success From the Inside Out
The Community Corrections Transition and Reunification Program offers intensive and integrated pre and post-release case management services to offenders currently incarcerated at the Maine Correctional Center. This program has successfully established collaborative relationships with a multitude of service providers throughout the state of Maine to address the biological, emotional, sociocultural, socioeconomic and spiritual needs of offenders’ transitioning into society.
Each offender has needs upon transition unique to their circumstances and the county they will be transitioning to. The Transition and Reunification Program has compiled a library of strategies and resources to address challenging geographical locations encountered when working with this diverse population. This program has adopted a holistic approach to reintegration through the practice of five governing principles of Empowerment, Meaningful & Responsible Choices, Respect & Dignity, Supportive Environment, and Shared Responsibility.
