Helping A Family Stay Together
Jason, a single father, and his three young girls were saved from the brink of homelessness with the help of our Greater Baton Rouge's Supportive Housing program. When one of Jason's daughters fell ill, our staff in Greater Baton Rouge and Kentucky collaborated to help this family stay together.

Operation Backpack®
Many homeless kids go back to school without the basic supplies they need. Many of them are living in foster care or come from families that are barely managing in these difficult times. Through our Operation Backpack® program, you can help provide these kids with a chance to succeed.
Mike Takes Shelter from the Storm
Mike went to college, began a career, married the woman he loved and had three beautiful children. He never imagined he'd one day find himself as someone on the other side of his desk… involved in drugs and living on the street, desperately seeking help to restore his life.
Karen Courageously Marches On
When Karen joined the Air Force, she loved the camaraderie and the structure it gave her life. But once out of the military, Karen's life took a turn. Civilian life and health problems sent her spiraling downward until she pulled herself up by her boot straps with the help of one of our veterans' program.
Policy Implications for an Aging Population
Our third-annual roundtable of experts discussed the urgent issues facing older Americans today. This year’s discussion focused on the significance of aging women in the home, workplace and broader community, with an in-depth discussion on the public policy and other solutions needed to head off an impending crisis of the nation’s elderly.
