And, more importantly, where would the homeless and hungry individuals and families turn for food and shelter? There are aging seniors who have no family to care for them…veterans returning with PTSD from Iraq and Afghanistan, not to forget the number of Vietnam veterans who are still in need…formerly incarcerated individuals seeking a new life, to learn new skills, to become a contributing part of society…people with intellectual disabilities…young mothers battling drug addiction and abuse…children caught in life’s storm…who would care for them?
For more than 115 years, Volunteers of America has been doing just that—reaching and uplifting all people. And, fortunately, there are great numbers of individuals, businesses, corporations and foundations that fully appreciate and value the work done by human service nonprofits, provided they are legitimate, financially sound nonprofits like Volunteers of America, that have beenaround—and will continue to be around—to serve the most vulnerable populations.
There is no time like the present to become involved with Volunteers of America.
