Frances Hesselbein - A Celebration of Leadership Skills
On December 13th, military brass, close friends and leadership professionals from several industries joined us at the National Press Club in Washington DC for a reception and book signing honoring Frances Hesselbein. Mrs. Hesselbein spoke on her latest book "My Life in Leadership: The Journey and Lessons Learned Along the Way." She is also the author of "Hesselbein on Leadership", and in collaboration with General (Ret.) Eric Shinseki, United States Secretary of Veterans Affairs, wrote the introduction to "Be, Know, Do: Leadership the Army Way." In total, she is the co-editor of 27 books that have been published in 29 languages.
Mrs. Hesselbein other milestones include: CEO of
The Frances Hesselbein Leadership Institute (formerly the Peter Drucker Foundation); winner of the Presidential Medal of Freedom (highest civilian honor) for her role as CEO of Girl Scouts of the U.S.A.; and first woman and non-graduate to serve as Chair for the Study of Leadership at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. She was also recognized by President George H. W. Bush, who appointed her to two Presidential Commissions on National and Community Service.
Close to 100 people came to meet and hear from Frances, an expert on leadership skills that can be applied to many areas of life.
