The Home Depot Foundation
Volunteers of America is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit organizations addressing veterans' needs. Nationally, it serves more than 7,700 homeless veterans each year through 35 programs in 15 states. Since beginning its partnership with Volunteers of America in April 2011, The Home Depot Foundation has pledged more than $4 million to the organization over three years to benefit homeless veterans by repairing and renovating properties where veterans and their families live. Each project includes numerous opportunities for Team Depot volunteers to get involved as well. Together, we have been able to refurbish or build housing for more than 1,000 homeless veterans and many of their family members.

Volunteers of America works with EcoMedia, a division of CBS, to identify and realize environmental improvement projects in low-income housing nationwide. The goal of this partnership is to make housing for the country’s most vulnerable citizens more energy efficient, thus decreasing living expenses for those on fixed incomes, while improving the environment. Through CBS EcoMedia Inc.’s innovative EcoAd program, corporate advertisers will provide financial support for the projects, which will include the installation of solar panels, lighting retrofits and additional technologies that lower energy costs. CBS EcoMedia also funds projects supported by leading environmental, wellness and education nonprofits with Ad Dollars, further improving the quality of life in communities nationwide.
