2009 Public Policy Advisory Board and Top Tier Priorities

Advocating Sound Policies through Tier Priorities

Our public policy top tier priorities are defined as:

Tier One Priorities:

Volunteers of America will assume an active leadership role in these priorities. This includes proactive advocacy work on Capitol Hill and with the Obama Administration, as well as the formation and steering of coalitions with human service partners. We will place the majority of our advocacy efforts and resources toward the pursuit of these goals. At this level, Volunteers of America will focus on policy development, furthering research, and local office and grassroots cultivation, in addition to other forms of advocacy.

Tier Two Priorities:

Volunteers of America will advocate and generate support within the organization, and conduct general outreach and support for these efforts through collaborative partnerships.
