At Volunteers of America Home Health, we want to provide you with the best care that allows you to stay as independent with your healthcare needs as possible. To help us accomplish this goal we have purchased equipment to assist the clinician in your home with your healthcare management needs. It is called Telehealth, and it is 2 small pieces of equipment that we can install in your home with a splitter on your home phone line. This equipment can allow us to check your vitals signs, oxygen saturation, and weight from three times a week to four times a day — depending on what your needs are. We can also set this equipment up to ask questions relating to your disease process. The equipment can be set at a time that is most convenient for you.
When you use this equipment, a nurse in the office reviews your medical information. The nurse will call you if she has any concerns and will solve the problem over the telephone — or send a nurse out to evaluate the situation. There is no additional cost to you to install this equipment, or any telephone charges. We believe we can assess for changes quicker and help you even via the telephone with your disease management needs. If you would be comfortable with us installing this equipment, the clinician who admits you to our service will notify the office to set up a visit for you.
