At Edina Care and Rehabilitation Center we see our volunteers as partners in caring. Volunteers are a vital element of our team that strives to make a difference in the lives of our residents we are entrusted to serve. Without volunteers, Edina Care and Rehabilitation Center cannot achieve the level of quality activities that we provide through the dedication and generousity of people like you that our precious residents are pleasantly affected everyday. We cannot express enough how much we value our volunteers.

The primary goal of the Volunteer Services is to partner together with our staff to assist and enhance Edina Care and Rehabilitation Centers commitment towards the care, and ativities our seniors enjoy on a daily basis. Last year over 160 volunteers were involved in our facility programs. Our activity programs are very diverse and so are our volunteer opportunities. A few examples of where volunteers are working in our facility with the elderly, would be our recreational therapy and social interpersonal events. Volunteer groups from businesses, faith communities, schools and other groups work with our seniors. Some of our volunteers prefer short-term projects while others work weekly or monthly helping others.

The following are a listing of activities that are residents enjoy. Please read and imagine yourself enjoying participating as a volunteer:music videos,chapel services,accordion , guitar, piano, harp music played live,excercise stretches, bingo, library time, men's quartet, birthday parties, religous services, massage therapy, sing-along, poetry groups, men's luncheon, tea parties, pet visits, puzzles, table games. card games, story telling, comedy, trivia, shopping, social hour, outdoor events, unscheduled entertainment and individualized recreation.

Edina Care and Rehabilitation Center gears each volunteer's position to the appropriate area where the volunteer's assistance and time can be maximized.
