Keeping PACE

Keeping P.A.C.E. could refer to a lot of things. But when people at Edina Care and Rehabilitation Center talk about "keeping P.A.C.E." they are referring to the facilitiy's commitment to "Keeping Pets Animals & Children at Edina." Consider how important this commitment might be to you if you were not easily able to get out and enjoy the world around you. Those patients who may only stay at the facility for a week of therapy still feel the limitations. Residents appreciate the presence of younger volunteers and playful, adorable animals. For residents who make Edina Care and Rehabilitation Center thier home, the people, plants and pets become long-term friends and sources of comfort. The goal of the program is to fill our home with plenty of love and life, to provide happy children to visit with the residents. To provide plants for the residents to cultivate and to bring animals and birds to visit and live with our residents.

Many high school students or younger come in and share their pets, feed the birds, water the plants and chat with residents. Young people have built plant stands and they also were involved in constructing a house for the facility's pet rabbit. Yes, it is true that the folks at Edina Care and Rehabilitation Center are certainly Keeping P.A.C.E. And they are doing it in very personal, caring, nurturing and uplifting ways.

Keeping P.A.C.E., is going well, as with everything it is a very costly. We are always glad to accept donations to help finance animal care. I am asking you, if you are looking for a worthy cause  in 2010, please remember our Keeping P.A.C.E., program.  If you want proof of its importance, please come and watch our residents faces light up when our little Peppie visits with them. We do appreciate your continued support.
