Chapel
In 2009 we opened our chapel. The chapel at Autunmwood was a dream of many of our residents as well as our first administrator, Katherine Lapczenski. Kay passed away before she ever got to see the chapel in all it’s splendor but the lovely cross stained glass window, the focal point of the chapel, shines as a tribute to her memory. The warm oak chapel furniture was a gift from Mercy Hospital of Tiffin and the altar was given in Kay’s memory by her family. Many churches and individuals offer spiritual programs for our residents, families and staff.
Remodel
We invite you to continue on to the back of our facility where another wonderful change awaits you. We transformed our back nurses’ station into a warm and welcoming Indoor Park with the use of warm colors, a cozy carpet and lighting. The addition of a stationary IN2L (an interactive computer system specifically designed for seniors have increased traffic to this area. Regular PARTY IN THE PARK events bring residents and their families together to have fun. Wi-Fi throughout the building is available for anyone needing an internet connection.
We have relocated each of the nursing staff to their appropriate neighborhood by removing the central nurses’ station and moving their office space to each of their neighborhoods, putting them near those whose lives they touch each day.
Be sure to check the large activity calendar located at the front and the back of our facility to see what is going on Autumnwood Care Center. Calendars are also included in our monthly newsletter "The Autumnwood Times". If you do not receive the newsletter but would like to be added to the mailing list, please call Mary Lee Creeger at 419-447-7151 or e-mail your request to mcreeger@voa.org..
