Featured Program: Homesless Veterans Reintegration Program

Veterans become homeless for many reasons. But almost all veterans, while serving our country, learn significant job skills. Often, homeless veterans just need a place to stay, job counseling, and assistance with transportation to and from work, or with purchasing tools or uniforms. That’s why Volunteers of America is proud to be the largest grantee of the Department of Labor’s Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP), and why Volunteers of America of Kentucky operated a model HVRP in Knoxville, Tenn.  In 2005, this program gave more than 200 veterans the help they needed to get jobs and find housing — truly reintegrating them into the community.
