Mike King

Michael (Mike) King, President and Chief Executive Officer 

Michael (Mike) King, former chief executive officer (CEO) of the organization’s local office in Texas, began his tenure as Volunteers of America’s new national president on July 1, 2010, succeeding Charles W. Gould. 

David T. Bowman, Executive Vice President, General Counsel

Mr. Bowman serves as executive vice president and general counsel at the Volunteers of America national office. In this role, he confers with the organization’s board, executive team, local office CEOs and staff on matters involving legal interpretation and decisions related to Volunteers of America’s activities, policy questions and operating issues.

Jatrice Martel Gaiter, Executive Vice President of External Affairs

Ms. Gaiter directs efforts to raise national awareness and increase capacity to serve clients through the organization’s development, communications and public policy departments.

Margaret Ratcliff, Executive Vice President of Affiliate Relations

Ms. Ratcliff's responsibilities focus on a broad range of program development and affiliate support efforts.

Jonathan E. Sherin, Executive Vice President, Veterans Affairs and Chief Medical Officer

Jonathan E. Sherin oversees Volunteers of America’s services to veterans, including housing assistance, employment and supportive services.

Thomas Turnbull, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Turnbull serves as chief operating officer at the Volunteers of America national office. His principal responsibilities include oversight of the housing and healthcare divisions.
